Two Colorado Springs Restaurants Fail Health Inspections
Shipley Do-nuts and Thai Taste Cuisine in Colorado Springs recently failed routine health inspections, each receiving nine violations. Shipley Do-nuts was cited for dirty cooking equipment and floors, while Thai Taste Cuisine had issues including improper food storage and a soiled chair used as a table. Both establishments have since passed re-inspections with improved scores. Meanwhile, Dairy Queen and other local eateries received commendable health ratings in the latest inspections.
In the latest Restaurant Roundup from El Paso County, two Colorado Springs restaurants, Shipley Do-nuts and Thai Taste Cuisine, faced significant health inspection failures. Shipley Do-nuts, located on Interquest Parkway, failed with nine violations, including dirty cooking equipment and floors. Operations Manager Bob Long acknowledged the need for better upkeep, stating they were ready for re-inspection. Following the visit, Long confirmed via email that they passed with only one violation.
Thai Taste Cuisine on North Academy Boulevard also received nine violations during its inspection. Issues included a flammable gas tank stored next to food, food containers on the floor, and a visibly soiled fabric chair used as a cooking equipment table. The manager, Krystina, was unable to confirm the status of the chair but reported that they passed their re-inspection with zero violations, showcasing the cleaning efforts made in the kitchen.
In contrast, Dairy Queen on Tutt Boulevard achieved a perfect score in its health inspection. Other local establishments, including Chick-Fil-A on Fountain Mesa Road and Jack In The Box on Austin Bluffs Parkway, also received commendable ratings. Maté Factor Café in Manitou Springs was highlighted for its inviting atmosphere and commitment to quality, with Manager Ayil Benyamin emphasizing the importance of community and cleanliness in their operations.
