Maynard James Keenan Launches Queen B Sushi in Cottonwood, Arizona
Maynard James Keenan, the frontman of Tool and A Perfect Circle, is expanding his culinary ventures with the upcoming opening of Queen B Sushi in Old Town Cottonwood, Arizona, scheduled for September 4th. This restaurant marks a new chapter in Keenan's culinary journey, which also includes the Queen B Vinyl Café and a successful wine business in the Verde Valley region.
The name Queen B Sushi pays homage to a song from Keenan's band Puscifer, reflecting his deep-rooted connection to the culinary arts. Keenan expressed his long-standing love for sushi, recalling his first experiences with the cuisine dating back to 1987 in Boston. His passion was further ignited during a tour in Japan with A Perfect Circle in 2000, where he acquired a pair of titanium and hardwood travel chopsticks that he has carried ever since.
