Endo Kazutoshi to Open New Omakase Restaurant in Chelsea This October
Renowned sushi chef Endo Kazutoshi is set to launch a new omakase restaurant in Chelsea, London, this October. Following the closure of his previous establishment, Endo at the Rotunda, due to a fire, the new venue will feature a 10-seat setup where diners will enjoy sushi crafted by Endo himself, with no set menu. The restaurant will be located above a listening bar called Moga, which will open to the public in December.
Endo Kazutoshi, the acclaimed sushi chef known for his previous establishment, Endo at the Rotunda, is preparing to unveil a new omakase restaurant in Chelsea, London, this October. This new venture comes after the unfortunate closure of Endo at the Rotunda due to a fire, which has left the restaurant out of operation for some time.
The upcoming restaurant will occupy the former site of the Michelin-starred Chelsea restaurant, The Five Fields, which also closed last year. This intimate space will seat just ten guests, creating a unique and personal dining experience. Patrons can expect an omakase format, meaning there will be no menu; instead, diners will enjoy a selection of sushi that Endo crafts on the spot, showcasing his culinary creativity and expertise.

The dining experience will be enhanced by a traditional 200-year-old hinoki counter imported from Kyoto, providing an authentic atmosphere for sushi lovers. Above the omakase restaurant, a listening bar named Moga will feature a cocktail menu inspired by various teas. Initially, Moga will be exclusive to diners at Endo, but it will open to the general public starting in December.
Endo expressed his excitement about this new chapter in his culinary journey, stating, "This project is the next chapter of my journey, strengthened by a clear vision and grounded more profoundly in the past. Behind every piece of sushi is the work of many hands - those who catch fish, grow the rice, and create the objects to serve it. This is a story I wish to tell. Like Kintsugi, the scars of last year have become part of my history; they have made me return more deeply to my roots."
As Endo at the Rotunda remains closed with no relaunch date announced, the chef has been active, recently hosting a pop-up at Mayfair bar Annabel’s, which concluded earlier this month. The new restaurant and Moga will be located at 8-9 Blacklands Terrace, Chelsea, SW3 2SP, and are highly anticipated by food enthusiasts in London.
