Crystal Jade Closes Two More Outlets in Singapore Amid Operational Review
Crystal Jade, the well-known Chinese restaurant group, has recently closed its Hong Kong Kitchen outlets at The Clementi Mall and Jurong Point, adding to the five locations it has shuttered in Singapore this year. This move is part of a broader operational review aimed at ensuring the sustainability of the brand's presence in the local market.
The closure of the Clementi Mall restaurant took place on September 15, while the Jurong Point branch ceased operations just a few days later on September 18. In a statement to CNA Lifestyle, Crystal Jade confirmed these closures and indicated that they are part of an ongoing assessment of its business operations, which could lead to further changes in the future.

Employees affected by the closures were notified directly, with the company offering potential redeployment opportunities within its remaining outlets. "We are grateful for customers who support Crystal Jade. Singapore remains our home market, and we are committed to maintaining a sustainable presence here," the group stated.
These closures follow the earlier shuttering of Crystal Jade's Great World restaurant, which closed its doors on September 1, also as part of the ongoing operational review. Earlier in the year, the group had already closed outlets at Hillion Mall and Suntec City, and in June 2025, the Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao restaurant in Holland Village closed after two decades of service.
Following these latest closures, Crystal Jade's website now lists 13 restaurants across six different brands in Singapore. The Hong Kong Kitchen brand will continue to operate at four locations: Causeway Point, Takashimaya Shopping Centre, One Holland Village, and Tampines 1.
Founded in Singapore in 1991, Crystal Jade has grown into a significant player in the Chinese dining scene, both locally and internationally, having received Michelin recognition for several of its restaurants. At its peak in 2015, the group operated 120 restaurants worldwide, including 47 in Singapore.
