Nong Geng Ji to Open Flagship Hunan Cuisine Restaurant in Manhattan
Nong Geng Ji, one of China's most popular Hunan cuisine brands, is making its mark in New York City with the opening of a flagship restaurant at 365 West 46th Street in Hell's Kitchen. This new establishment will occupy a spacious 9,900-square-foot area and is strategically located along the famous Restaurant Row, known for its vibrant dining options. The restaurant will replace the former sushi venue, Sushi Seki, and aims to cater to the bustling Theater District audience.
The lease details remain undisclosed, but reports indicate that the asking rent for this prime location is set at $55,000 per month. The tenant broker, Meridian Capital Group, facilitated the lease, with James Famularo and Kyle Fink representing Nong Geng Ji. The landlord, Lucky 11 Group, was represented by Milly Cheung and Jordan Cohen from Lee & Associates NYC.

Fink noted the competitive nature of Restaurant Row, emphasizing that such a large three-level space rarely becomes available. Nong Geng Ji's choice of location reflects its ambition to establish a prominent presence in New York City, where it can attract both locals and tourists alike.
Founded in 2017, Nong Geng Ji has rapidly expanded its footprint across China and internationally. Earlier this year, the brand opened its first U.S. location in Flushing, Queens, marking its entry into the American market. According to Lee's Cheung, the landlord selected Nong Geng Ji for its strong brand recognition in China and the restaurant's commitment to adapting its dishes with local flavors to appeal to New Yorkers.
The new restaurant's proximity to Times Square and the Theatre District positions it well to attract a diverse clientele eager to experience authentic Chinese cuisine. As the restaurant prepares for its grand opening, it promises to bring a unique taste of Hunan flavors to the city's culinary landscape, enriching the dining options available to both residents and visitors.
