Takashi Saito Brings Exclusive Omakase Experience to NYC for Three Nights
Takashi Saito, the acclaimed chef behind Tokyo's prestigious Sushi Saito, is set to take over Sushi Noz on the Upper East Side for a limited three-night omakase event from November 5 to 7. Known for its exclusivity, Sushi Saito typically requires diners to be regulars or to have connections to secure a reservation. However, this special residency will give New Yorkers a rare chance to indulge in Saito's celebrated sushi without the need for a long-haul flight or a membership.
During this event, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a meticulously crafted omakase experience at Sushi Noz's Hinoki Counter, featuring six seatings each evening at 6 PM and 9 PM. The ambiance is enhanced by the counter's 200-year-old hinoki wood and a traditional icebox, creating a unique dining atmosphere. For those who wish to experience a similar menu, Chef Hiroshi Ishikawa from Sushi Saito will also serve in Sushi Noz's intimate Ash Room, accommodating six diners at 5:45 PM and 8:45 PM.

Sushi Saito, which previously held three Michelin stars, is renowned for its Edomae sushi, a Tokyo tradition focusing on the preparation and seasoning of fish and rice. The upcoming event marks the first collaboration between Saito and Sushi Noz in the United States, further elevating the anticipation surrounding this exclusive dining opportunity. While the specific menu details have yet to be disclosed, diners can expect a carefully curated selection of sushi that reflects Saito's culinary artistry.
A Unique Culinary Journey Awaits
Reservations for this unique experience are available through Sushi Noz’s booking platform, which will also maintain a waitlist once the initial spots fill up. It is essential for potential diners to note the fine print: the restaurant is unable to accommodate dietary restrictions or modifications to the menu, and all sales are final and nonrefundable, with corkage fees not permitted.
This event is not just a meal; it’s a culinary journey that brings a slice of Tokyo's sushi culture to New York City, offering an unparalleled opportunity for sushi enthusiasts to savor the artistry of one of the world's most revered sushi chefs. With a price tag ranging from $1,200 to $1,800 per person, it certainly represents a significant splurge, but for many, the chance to dine with Takashi Saito will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
